Hello fellow Hunters.I come bearing gifts but also asking for advice.Recently I've discovered that you can dump textures and change them for the PSP (I know I'm a bit behind here). I'm starting a project to do a high quality upscale of the Monster Hunter Portable Third HD UI and other bits and bobs that needs attention.I'm also working on Higher quality maps that are still in the monster hunter shaded style for UI components, but also an optional map with resources on it.Here's a link with an example of what I'm talking about and what i've got so far:Now.
This is a personal project, I want to introduce a friend to the series and this is me trying to make it all modern. But I do believe this could be a larger collaborative project and probably gain more traction.So the questions:Is this something you guys might be interested in?Are there people who would like to help out? (Doesn't have to be just artists. People making sure resources line up with icons on map)Also if there are any interest, what would the best way be of collaborating on something like this with shared and constantly updated resources?

Great work there. Nice finish on the map, including the resource points. My only critiques would be on the numbers and the paths between areas.
I'd prefer if both maintained their original formats, for the numbers its original font, and for the paths to retain the angles over the more streamlined path. To me i just find that the original number font makes it more, i don't know, official looking, for lack of better words to describe it. With the paths, i just find it more elegant with it having the edges than being curved, but this greatly subjective probably because i design traces for PCBs so meh.overall, nicely done. Glad I was able to help. Upon further pondering I get why you went with curved paths with the layout; since the areas were rounded, it made sense. Using hard edges on the paths whilst keeping the areas looking 'rounded' did strike as odd when I imagined it, but if you can pull it off then hey, awesome!EDIT: saw some of the samples under the 'Screenshots' folder. The font on the numbers on the sandy plains was spot on.
Of the three, it looked the best, at least for me. Dunno, guess I have a fetish for edges lol. Thanks for the feedback bro!Yes, I had to figure out how to make the map 'work'.I removed a lot of the extraneous detail and made it cleaner, as well as slightly rounder so that it scales better on high resolutions, but also so that it doesn't seem cluttered if resource icons are added.With the bigger areas I had to move the map numbers around a bit and also the hard path lines would intersect otherwise.Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency. I have an older version of the 'new' font on the one map, and the correct, sharper version on sandy plains. I need a better system to organize the assets.
